Deep Pockets, Soul and Groove
in this Power Trio
This night at the sold out Acoustic Cafe was
nothing less than explosive. The
Christina
Abbott Band played an 1 1/2 hour long set of
original acoustic funk
and groove. Her near
flawless performance, powerful voice and funky
rhythm section
kept her audience engaged and
wanting for more through out the show.
Abbott's
music is not what I would call timid or
soft spoken. It an acoustic driven funky
groove
that will have you on your feet. Ron Nihoff on
drums laid down a powerful
back beat with
excellent time and punch. Robert Ortner on
upright bass, grooved
strong and in the pocket,
feeding off of Nihoff and Abbott, producing the
perfect
blend of music that kept the energy
up throughout the night.
These recordings truly captured this night in if fullest. We are all looking forward to her CD release on March 13 back at the Acoustic Cafe. CD's will be available at this show and soon after over the net and at local store.
