Blues, Rock and a Slide Guitar
Geoff Hartwell is to many the best in the
business when it comes to slide playing
blues guitar. His form is liquid in every sense
of the word. Moving from passage
to passage
from song to song his style is original and pure.
Covering a wide
variety of blues standards to
original material both Hartwell and his band are
on top of the game. Chris Burke on the Hammond
Organ and Vocals, brings out
the true blues
rock sound that so many keyboardist try to
achieve form synth
and samples but can't
quite get there. His feel and sound behind the
organ is
reminiscent to that of Greg Alman.
Richard Kelly on bass and J.J. Clark on drums
hold down the strong foundation needed for Burk and Hartwell's solos and improvising.
In all, this is a group to see live. The Geoff Hartwell Band plays regular gigs all over Westchester Rocland and NYC. Geoff also hosts a blues jam every Tuesday night at Jean Jacques in Pleasentville, NY.
